BUSINESS EXPERIENCE: Forty years of insurance experience working for both non-admitted and admitted carriers and in the brokerage environment.  Many years of strategic and versatile professional insurance experience including having a broad knowledge of insurance company marketing techniques developed from working with national and regional carriers.  Past SLAOR experience includes Board member from 2004-2007, 2008-2011, and 2014-2016.  Jim served as President in 2009 and 2010.  

CURRENT POSITION: Marketing Manager for Red Shield Insurance Company and Rainier Insurance Company in Portland, OR.    

  Cameron Deiss

  EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Marketing with a minor in Computer Information Science from Southern Oregon University. 

BUSINESS EXPERIENCE: Cameron has been with Mid Valley General Agency LLC since 2001 and has held his current position since 2004.  His role includes directing business operations, managing staff, overseeing marketing functions, administering IT resources, and underwriting commercial lines accounts.  He has been involved with numerous agent and carrier advisory boards and continues to maintain active involvement with many industry groups.  Cameron was born and raised in Oregon and currently resides in Salem, OR.  Past SLAOR experience includes Board member from 2014-2017 and President in 2016.    

CURRENT POSITION: President of Mid Valley General Agency LLC (MVGA) located in Salem, OR.    

Jeremy Reedal

Secretary-Treasurer
(Position #2: Term 2019 - 2022)

BUSINESS EXPERIENCE: Indemnity Excess and Surplus Agency was founded in 1992.  Jeremy has worked in many roles within the marketing department and new business.  He took on the role of President in June, 2018.  His primary responsibility now is the administration of the company as well as actively brokering business.  Jeremy loves the day to day communication with their valued retail partners and finding them solutions to complex insurance opportunities.  He values these relationships and works hard to honor them with respect and diligence in servicing all of their insurance needs.  Jeremy was born and raised in the Portland Metro area and looks forward to continuing to serve our insurance community.

Dyan BatesDyan Bates

Director
(Position #1: Term 2019 - 2022)

BUSINESS EXPERIENCE: Dyan began her insurance career with Primex Insurance Brokers, a Managing General Agency located in Tigard, OR in 1990.  She was a Multi-Line Underwriter there for over ten years.  In 2000, she moved to Kenneth I. Tobey where she was a Vice President for the Transportation Unit serving Washington, Oregon and Alaska clients.  In 2003, she joined the McFall General Agency as an Underwriter.  In 2006, she co-founded a wholesale agency, Evergreen Insurance Managers.  She has been a licensed producer since 1993, and obtained her surplus lines license in 2000.  Dyan has served on the Oregon Surplus Line Association's Board of Directors from 2007 - 2009 and again from 2012 - 2015; in 2015 she served as President.  She has chaired the OR SLA Education Committee since 2005.  

CURRENT POSITION: President, Evergreen Insurance Managers, Inc. in Hillsboro, OR.     

Mark Wilson

(Position #3: Term 2020 - 2023

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas.  CPCU Designation.

BUSINESS EXPERIENCE: Growing up in Portland, Mark entered the insurance business after graduation from college in 2004 as a claims analyst for Allied Insurance.  Joining an independent agency in 2005 as a commercial lines account executive, he transitioned through various positions including sales, operations, and management.  After founding Obsidian Insurance in 2018, Mark’s focus is now on serving select clients throughout the Pacific Northwest.  A favorite part of his job is the opportunity to observe a wide variety of his clients’ businesses in multiple industries while working to become their insurance advisor.  Mark is dedicated to our industry and want to support our local insurance marketplace through the management and objectives of the Surplus Line Association of Oregon.  SLAOR Board Member from 2016 to 2019.  SLAOR President in 2019.  SLI-PAC Board Member from 2015 to present.
